Evaluation

A good evaluation contributes to a precise and fair measurement of exam candidates’ performances. The quality of questions can be systematically evaluated based on statistical analysis. In this way, exam questions which might interfere with the exam result can be discovered and either eliminated or improved for subsequent use.

Depending on the complexity of an exam, different challenges arise for its evaluation. With advice, service and tools, the Department for Assessment and Evaluation (AAE) supports persons in charge of exams on various levels:

  1. Development of the score list
  2. Setting the pass mark (criteria-based if possible)
  3. Creation of feedback for the exam candidates
  4. Detailed exam analysis for persons in charge of the exam

The analysis contains information on measurement precision, flags up weak points and shows possibilities for improvement.
